I unfortunately take quite a few tumbles off my bike and my father insisted that i start to wear protection. I slipped over some wet leaves while travelling at speed and fell onto my knee and elbows, and it worked! Not a scrape or bruise
I recommend this product!

SixSixOne Comp Elbow Guards - Child
SixSixOne Comp Elbow Guards - Child
SixSixOne Comp Elbow Guards offer superior protection at an affordable price.

Would these be suitable for a 6 yr old?

Yes they would, but i would advise also buying others, so you have a full set of knee, elbow and head protection. You can buy packs of the elbow and knee. Also with a child of that age i would seriously say get some protective gloves aswel, as i see too many children scraping all of the skin off their hands
