I have used Sat Nav since its beginning.I need it for my job. My last SatNav being a TOMTOM910, which was old, reliable and tough. However after the connections between holder and unit gave out I needed a new SatNav, and I needed it quick. This little baby is pretty lightweight and slim, which is great. It has a great big wide screen and its totally up to the excellent mapping of TOMTOM. I like the lane change screens, and the updating is easy via the web. However...a word of wisdom...Do make a back up of the XXL on your computer so that, should things go wrong in the future, you will have the ability to to return to factory default! This is a must, and even back up that back up onto CD, just in case your PC goes to PC Heaven. Downside, well I was spoilt with the TOMTOM 910. That had a 40Gb hard drive, this baby has only 2 Gb. That means if like me, you will use it in the USA, you have to wipe the Weston Europe and UK maps off the unit, so you can put the US maps on. On returning back to UK, you then will need to restore the back up I told you to make!!! No Blu Tooth for phone either. Other than that, very happy, it does what it says on the tin with a good screen. I don't understand what IQ routes is yet, but I guess it must be a good thing. Happy SatNaving.
I recommend this product!
I like:big screen, good screen mount, quck to update after taking the wrong turn, light and slim, good price, speed camera notification, ability upload map mistakes and speed cams
I don't like as much:painfully slow to backup and restore?, no blu tooth conectivity, no case included it would be a cheap to supply, limited 2gb internal memory, no sd card slot

Yes, but see my review. Only a 2Gb mem on this baby, so you will need to back it up, wipe the UK and Euro maps and then install the US map. When you come back home do a full restore on the unit form your original back up to Nav around the UK and Europe. You will of course have the US maps backed up so you can reinstall should you be returning to the good old USA

Miles to destination displayed

I've had previous sat navs that display how many miles left until the destination will be reached. Does this sat nav offer this.

E.G. DTG
(This is excluding the time remaining)

Also does the sat nav offer different map views??

This unit does give you a count down to your destination in miles. You need to choose this option in the set up of what is dispalyed on the screen.
You can switch from the default 3D to 2D. You can also have different coloured maps and it will self adjust to daylight coloured maps and night time couloured maps, which is standard with TomTom
