Bought this to add to a second bike. Although it states for the 8,10 and 12f , it's only for the newer versions, older versions of the 8,10 and 12 are narrower and as such don't clip in very securely. I had to glue some bit's of small cable tie into the mounting slots to make it narrower to stop the computer from twisting and shaking out. I wanted to keep my old 12f due to the fact it seems to be more reliable than the newer versions,i've had it for 5 years with no problems at all.
No, I do not recommend this product.
I like:cheaper than a full computer kit
I don't like as much:will not fit older versions without adaptation

The Cateye Velo Wireless Cycle Computer boasts seven functions to assist you in training.

Wireless range?

How far can the cycle computer be set away from the magnet and pickup?

It's not being used on a bicycle so I would be interested to know the full distance before the signal cannot be received by the computer.
It's got to be as close as possible. I'd say any more than 5mm and you'd struggle to get a signal
