This bike is absolutely fine. You honestly get what you pay for. My old shopping bike was crushed in an accident by a careless car driver and this is a perfect replacement. I use it for shopping and short trips around town. I would not use it for longer trips as it is quite low geared so takes a while to get anywhere compared to my ancient 12 speed racing bike. But as an everyday mount that you just grab and go it is fine. I had it delivered to my home and assembly was straightforward but I needed to use my own tools as the ones supplied are insufficient. Probably best to get it built in store if you are not confident. It came covered in cardboard and plastic but was still a bit scratched so not quite immaculate. The riding position is very upright. This is a real 'sit up and beg' machine and it takes a little getting used to as the steering feels very light. My teenage son struggles with it whereas he used to happily use my old shopper for his paper round. But I think it is comfortable and very pleasant to ride. The build quality is just what you would expect for the price, nothing exceptional but it all works and, if looked after, should last pretty well. For people who use or remember Sturmey Archer gears the gear change is a disappointing plastic affair but it works fine and the hub quality is great with very easy shifting between ratios.
I recommend this product!
I like:a solid straightforward machine
I don't like as much:very upright riding position

Are you sure this bike has quick release wheels, as when we asked in store we noticed that it didn't, and this was confirmed by a member of staff...?

Is the ladies classic bike comfortable enough for tow paths and such like?

It really depends on what you mean by comfortable ! I would ride it on smooth fairly well maintained tow paths but not some of the rougher ones on more remote stretches of canal. But you could go slowly over bumpy tow paths if you take your time and go carefully. The steering is very light with swept back handlebars so there is less control than on a mountain bike with straighter handlebars. I would be a bit nervous about hitting a big bump near an overgrown hedge and possible dropping into the canal! But then I prefer to be on a boat anyway. If you are a boater looking for something to cycle between locks on this is a reasonable bike for the price, the full chainguard and the simple SA gearing.

What height would this bike suit most- I'm 5 foot 7 and am not sure whether to get this one or the 19" one

It depends on your inside leg measurement rather than your overall height. Mine is 31 inches. With the 19" bike and the saddle in a fairly low setting I can reach the ground easily with both feet.

No, it comes in a big box. It is fairly easy to assemble if you are confident but you need some tools as the ones supplied insufficient.
